July 25/13

Drove to Glastonbury to see the ruined abbey. It's made up of a chapel and a church that had been once joined together. The grounds were spacious and it would have been an enormous church at that time. Also wandered a bit around the town. The shops were 'New Age' - crystals, angels, King Arthur, Druids, etc - right up Michael's alley ;-) Luckily the rain held off until we finished taking photos!

Next stop was Wells Cathedral. Construction started in the 1100's and continued on through the 1500's. It's not as grand as the other cathedrals we've seen, but still impressive. We were lucky enough to hear the choir rehearsing while we were there, as it sounded splendid!

Our B&B is a cabin on a farmhouse property - very unique! We're just outside Cheddar, ready to hike on the gorge tomorrow.
